At Cervizzi’s Martial Arts Academy (CMAA) in North Reading, there’s nothing we love more than seeing our students achieve their goals. They’ve been working hard in every martial arts class, and now they’re ready to put their skills to the test in our annual spring karate tournament.
The CMAA Spring Extravaganza begins on Saturday, March 30th with our black belt exam and annual banquet celebration at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston North Shore in Danvers. The next day, Sunday, March 31st, the tournament kicks off at 8:30 am for all ages, all ranks, and all styles! Registration begins at 7:30 am!
What to Expect
For the celebration, the focus will, of course, be on having fun. We will recognize all of our new black belts, showcasing what they’ve done and what they’ve accomplished to reach the highest rank in martial arts. There will also be food and dancing, and all of the families who call Cervizzi’s home are invited to attend. The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The tournament on Sunday consists of all age groups participating in various divisions and forms. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., and the tournament will start promptly at 9:00 a.m. The youngest competitors will be called first, and we’ll work up to the adult competitors throughout the day. Open forms and weapons divisions will be included, and we know that everyone involved will be excited to see what each student can do.
A Time to Commemorate Achievement
At Cervizzi’s, we know that each student works hard in each class to refine their skills and improve their techniques. The tournament gives them a chance to show what they’ve learned and for their families to see what everyone has been working on for the past few months. Some may have never seen their son or daughter practice karate, and the tournament stage often brings out the best in each student.
Recognizing our black belts is also important, because these people have dedicated years to become the best they can be at martial arts. If a student has just attained black belt rank, then we want them to receive the accolades they deserve, while also focusing on continuing to improve and get better with each class. The tournament can also be a springboard for those working toward their black belt to keep working, since they’ll see what can be achieved.
We hope that if you’re a current student of Cervizzi’s Martial Arts Academy, or a family member of a current student, you’ll be able to join us for our spring tournament and celebration. Students from our North Reading, Andover, North Andover, Lynnfield, and Winthrop locations will all be in attendance, and the event should be one to remember.
If you have questions about the karate tournament or celebration, then please feel free to contact us right away. We can help you get in touch with the DoubleTree hotel as well so that you can book accommodations, should you want to stay there Saturday night between the celebration party and the tournament.
